This morning I got myself out of bed (too many days in a row!) early for the CES Winter Warriors Saturday AM run. Instead of a long run, it was a holiday scavenger hunt! The coaches put together a set of questions that you’d only be able to answer by running around the Lincoln Park area.
I partnered with my friend Lillian, as well as Amy and someone else, and we called our team the Snowbelle Fairies. Once we got the assignment, we plotted our strategy (run toward the furthest question and then head back to the store. We had a lot of fun along the way, answered the holiday trivia questions for bonus points. We got almost everything right! The only question we didn’t answer correctly was “How do you spell the Jewish holiday of 8 days and nights?” We wrote Chanukah, which apparently was not the answer that the coaches were looking for.
It wasn’t too cold out (no hats or gloves!) but it was nice to warm up and socialize with the winter warriors group with some nice coffee and breakfast goodies. Thanks Ed for some great mini-bagel sandwiches! Who knew that Costco had such great granola? I seriously thought it had been homemade.
We perused the Fleet Feet store, I picked up a technical beanie from Books (w/ ponytail hole) & headband (that actually covers my ears!), and then I registered for the Rudolph Ramble, a 8K happening tomorrow morning. I’m always a sucker for charity races, and it seems like fun!
